This Custom 1979 Datsun 620 is powered by a Chevy 350ci V8 fitted with World heads, an Edelbrock manifold, and a Holly 650 CFM double-pumper carburetor. The transmission is a Tremec 5-speed manual gearbox. Customizations include aluminum flares, a custom wood bed, 300ZX underpinnings, a full roll cage, MSD Ignition, and more.
The build began with a 620 Datsun truck. The cab was moved back six inches, and the bed was shortened by six inches. Aluminum flares were added to account for the wider track of the 300ZX undercarriage. Underneath, the 300ZX platform includes 4-wheel independent suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes. The weight distribution is 52% in the front and 48% in the rear. The truck is fitted with power steering.
The Rocket Racing wheels are wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A rubber. A custom wood bed was installed with an RCI fuel cell positioned behind the cab. Heavily-bolstered leather seats are equipped with racing harnesses. Aluminium panels are affixed on the doors and the dash.
